Lewisville 2025 Rejuvenation

Lewisville City Council unanimously adopted the Lewisville 2025 plan on July 14, 2014. The plan was developed during more than a year of public input and discussion that garnered hundreds of ideas and suggestions. That input was studied extensively by the Lewisville 2025 Committee, working with City staff and professional consultants. The resulting Lewisville 2025 plan sets a clear shared vision for the kind of community Lewisville wants to be when it turns 100 years old in 2025, and sets out dozens of action steps that can be taken to make that vision a reality. Implementation of the Lewisville 2025 vision plan will be an ongoing process with a single goal -- to make Lewisville a place that people choose to live, work and visit.

Old Town Lewisville Rezoning

Lewisville has enjoyed a central position within the DFW region offering its population proximity to DFW International Airport, commercial uses along Interstate 35, and Lake Lewisville.  With a large portion of the City having built out, an aging residential and commercial building stock developed through suburban development patterns, and an emerging market preference towards walkable urbanism and desired access to natural amenities, the City undertook an update of its Comprehensive Plan.  The goal of this effort was to provide a new vision of how the City could induce new forms of investment while harnessing the conventional market to improve the City’s quality of life.
